6306585951_8576df71f3_oHawaii’s own KIMIÉ will be releasing her new album on March 5th, To The Sea, describing it as a reflection of her “musical journey thus far.” Songs like “Living in the City” and “Haters” offer fresh lyric themes and new genres, all the while revisiting her original acoustic sounds. The album follows KIMIÉ’s recently released single “Shame on You,” which reached #1 on radio stations in Hawaii. The new EP is rooted in Hawaiian, island and reggae music with a blend of acoustic and urban soul.

To The Sea is inspired by love, my Hawaiian upbringing, and my new endeavors,” said KIMIÉ. “While making this album I pushed myself to embrace change and take risks – these songs invite you on that journey.”

The transitional album was produced completely independently by KIMIÉ through a Kickstarter campaign in 2012. “I chose this route for the completion of my new EP in hopes of taking full creative control over the project,” added KIMIÉ . “Meeting my goal and actually producing the album proved to be a challenge, but thanks to all of my fans and supporters I’ve grown from a musical artist to a business woman. The whole experience really made me appreciate the album that much more and especially each and every person who contributed to it. This is for them.”

KIMIÉ will also celebrate the launch of her new album with a Hawaii tour in April. The dates and locations are as follows:
March 22, 2013- O’ahu (Boardrider’s, 10pm)
